September 17, 2021 — November 12, 2021.

The first iteration of “The Infernal Grove: A Non-Systematic Structural Analysis of Drug-Taking & Addiction” took place at The Blue Building Gallery from September 17-November 12, 2021. The exhibition was the gallery’s second solo exhibition and its first exhibition of anchor artists, Emily Vey Duke & Cooper Battersby. About the exhibition Duke and Battersby wrote:

The Blue Building Exhibition is the first expression of its infernal unfurling.
The Infernal Grove Project is anti-white supremacy, anti-carceral and anti-drug-prohibition.
Drug prohibition laws were racist by design and are racism in action.
Drug prohibition kills people who use drugs.
The infernal grove project loves people who use drugs.
